Mahatma Gandhi Road (shortened to M.G. Road) is a station in the east-west line of the Namma Metro in Bangalore, India. It was opened to the public on the 20th of October 2011.[1]

The station was constructed by Punj Lloyd.[2]

MG Road boulevard had been demolished in order to build Namma Metro. Work on the 700-metre stretch is expected to be completed by March 2012.[3] MG Road boulevard will be lined with flowering plants and have a two-tier walkway with a museum, art gallery, amphitheatre and children's play area located on the ground floor. The first floor will have connectivity to the metro station and both floors will be equipped with internationally-designed toilets. The area where the dummy coach is parked will have ramps leading up to the boulevard.

BMRC had announced that MG Road station's second landing would be ready at the place where Plaza theatre once stood by the end of 2011.
